This is the story of a Frog and a Mouse
Who lived together in a little red house Deep in the Evergreen woods. They were the bestest of friends, close as can be. Playing in the forest, joyful and carefree, having fun day after day. One dull morning, Mouse said, "What shall we do?" And Frog thought deep, and then he knew. Their garden was ready for harvest. "Let's give out our spoils, we have treats to share! We'll invite all our friends— Owl, Fox, and Bear. And have a great summer party." "What shall we make?" Frog wondered. "It must be sweet." "It should be warm, and flaky, and golden, and neat. Mouse, let's make a blueberry pie!" But out in the garden to look for their berries, There was nothing, not one, not even a cherry. All of their fruits were missing! Oh dear, oh no" said Frog with a cry. "Who could have done this, who was so sly?" Who could have stolen the fruits for their pie? "Now what do we do, my dear friend Mouse? How do we invite our friends to this house, Without food to fill up their bellies?" And Mouse thought and thought, so deeply he sweat. Then he declared "It's not over, not yet!" Mouse came up with a clever plan. "Here's what we'll do. We'll be detectives, you see. To look for the missing berries, just you and me. And we'll find this rotten thief." |
